"Oh, Miss Holloway. Is there anything I can help you with?" Maxwell smiled as he addressed Rebecca.

"I just wanted to thank you for allowing me to sit in on your class Professor." Rebeca grinned back at him.

Maxwell came up beside her and leaned close to her ear. "Well have dinner with me and then maybe, it you are a good girl you can thank me properly later this evening."

Rebecca's breath hitched, "Yes Sir, I... I'd love to."

Maxwell took her by the hand and guided them across campus towards the faculty parking lot. "I thought we would pick up Chinese food and take it back to my place. Sound good to you?"

"Yes Sir."

"You," He stopped, turned to her, caressed her cheek and kissed her before continuing. "Were amazing earlier."

"When?" The continued walking. "When was I amazing Sir?"

"With Marcy Allen."

"Who? Oh, the seat girl?"

Maxwell chuckled. "Yeah the seat girl."

"She seemed a little uptight."

"Yeah... yeah that's one way to put it. You handled her wonderfully though. You were nothing like the timid little thing that came into my office last week."

"Well, a dominant professor in his thirties tends to inspire a much different reaction in me than a whiny teenage girl."

They had reached his car and Maxwell opened the passenger door for Rebecca. "Well I'm very glad for that." He kissed her temple and stood to the side so she could get in. Once she was buckled up he shut her door and went around to the other side.

"Where would you like to eat?" They had just walked in the back door to Maxwell's house and he stood holding the bag of takeout as she thought about his question.

Her eyes lit up and so looked at him with apprehension and hope. "Can... can we have a picnic in the study?"

"A picnic in the study?"

Rebecca shook her head up and down. "Yeah!" Her silver eyes sparkled. "A naked picnic, with a fire, on a blanket."

Maxwell grinned at her excitement. She was full of surprises tonight. "We can have the picnic, the blanket and the fire but your clothes stay on until after we have gone over the contract and checklists."

Her face fell slightly and a wave of nervousness coursed through her stomach as she thought of the conversation they would be having after dinner. "Yes Sir, thank you."

"The window seat in the study is also a chest, open it and get out the blankets, I'll be there in a minute with the food and to start the fire."

In the study Rebecca arranged a comfy pile of blankets and pillows, opened the glass fireplace doors, slipped off her shoes and jacket and began to explore the study. When Maxwell walked in a minute later he found her by the bookshelves opposite the fireplace running her fingers over the spines.

"See anything you like?"

She turned to look at him and smiled sheepishly. "I was just thinking I should try A Tale of Two Cities again."

"Come, sit." Maxwell commanded gently.
